This perfect trip takes you to all the must between Vienna and Prague in only 5 days - you will explore the Podyji National Park and touch the fence of the Iron Curtain, visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Lednice/Valtice, Telc, Cesky Krumlov and Holasovice, the unique fish ponds of the Trebon region in Southern Bohemia (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve). Daily distance is 35 - 60 km (= 22 - 38 miles) at a medium difficulty level Too long daily trips? Too short? Tell it to your vehicle support, no problem. Missing anything? Add extra day? Tell us when making reservation. Day 1 - Transfer to the Czech Republic and visit to the expansive chateau grounds and parklands of Valtice and Lednice (UNESCO World Heritage Sites). Then cycling to Mikulov, a Renaissance town in the heart of wine country at the foot of the Palava Hills (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve). Evening transfer to another wine centre, the mediaeval town of Znojmo. Day 2 - A short morning tour around the mediaeval town centre with its wine shops, churches and the Romanesque rotunda , decorated with unique frescos inside, reminiscent of the early Slavs. Then cycling through the Podyji National Park and the ancient Sobes vineyard, where traveller can sample excellent wines. Cycle along the picturesque meanders of the Dyje (Thaya) River, a border area between the Czech Republic and Austria, until you reach the remains of the Iron Curtain. The day ends in Vranov, a little town renowned for its charming chateau. From here car transfer to the fairytale-like renaissance town of Telc (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Day 3 - Morning exploration of Telc (UNESCO World Heritage Sites) historical city centre. A short stop in Slavonice, another renaissance gem, where exquisite pottery is made - you can decorate your own cup. Then cycle down to the fishponds around the renaissance town of Trebon (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve). Fish restaurants in Trebon and the local Regent beer are a must! Day 4 - Gentle cycling through meadows and forests to the world renowned mediaeval town of Cesky Krumlov situated along the Vltava (Moldau) River (UNESCO Heritage Site). Don t forget to try the local Eggenberg beer in one of the great village pubs! Day 5 - Experience the unforgettable atmosphere of Cesky Krumlov again - see its beautiful romantic chateau and/or the Egon Schiele Gallery. Have a cup of coffee in one of the many charming restaurants and then set out for a trip through the picturesque rolling countryside to Holasovice, a unique village built in "baroque folk" style (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The trip ends in Ceske Budejovice (Budweis), the "capital of South Bohemia", where you must taste the only true original Budweiser beer! From here transfer to Prague, a unique treasure of architectural styles and fine arts.
